2019 Call for District Grants

The Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine offers grants for educational or organization purposes within the individual perinatal districts of the Academy.  The grant award is up to $5,000 per district.  Applicants must be members of the Section on Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.  The following guidelines should be followed when submitting for funding:

  1. The grant may be used to promote neonatal/perinatal health and education with in the district, including, but not limited to:

    1. continuing education programs for neonatal/perinatal medicine health care professionals within the district

    2. programs designed to improve quality of perinatal care delivered within the district

    3. communication initiatives or other organizational support which could promote improved regional perinatal health

    4. programs for young investigators to foster further training and investigation in the area of perinatal/neonatal health

  2. Priority will be given to programs with specific objectives with measurable outcomes. These should be stated in the application. Other factors that will be considered include impact, sustainability, and geographic distribution of registrants.

  3. Grants may be used jointly by neighboring districts.

  4. Grant applications must include title, purpose, specific objectives, target audience, proposal/program content and budget.

  5. Applications should be discussed with your District Representative on the Section's Executive Committee prior to submission.

  6. The planned activity should not conflict with the Section's spring workshop (March 29-31, 2019) or the AAP 's National Conference (October 24-29, 2019)

  7. Following the sponsored program, a copy of the brochure, number of people attending and their professional affiliations and program evaluations results should be submitted as soon as possible after the meeting or by June 1, 2020 to Jim Couto, MA, Director, Hospital & Surgical Services, 345 Park Blvd., Itasca, IL 60143.

 

The submission deadline is March 1, 2019.  Proposals should be sent to Jim Couto, MA at the above address.  A letter of support from the District Representative on the Executive Committee of the Section on Neonatal - Perinatal Medicine should be forwarded with the proposal.
