Dues/year:

Medical Students, Residents, Fellowship Trainees and Senior Members - $0*
All other accepted National member types - $40*
Council Affiliates - $60

* In addition to national dues​ and must be actively involved in some aspect of the study of abuse and neglect of infants, children or adolescents.

**CoCAN members need not be trained in the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics.  

What is a Child Abuse Pediatrician? 
Child abuse pediatricians are doctors with special training, experience, and skills in evaluating children who may be victims of some type of abuse or neglect. ​​

Council affiliate membership

Licensed MDs, DOs, NPs or RNs not eligible for AAP membership.  Must devote a minimum of 25% of practice to pediatric patients; must be demonstrably active in the field of child abuse providing evaluation, treatment or preventative services for children at risk, or who have been abused and/or neglected.Affiliate Applicants must submit: 

​​One letter from a current member of the Section on Child Abuse & Neglect that document the applicant’s:

    1. Work with children

    2. Involvement in the field of child abuse & neglect

    3. Good character

A copy of a current license in the relevant profession

A curriculum vitae (or resume)
