COCP membership is open to the following AAP Membership Categories:

  • Candidate Members
  • Corresponding Fellows
  • Fellows
  • Fellowship Trainees
  • Honorary Fellows
  • International Members
  • National Affiliates
  • Medical Students
  • Residents
  • Senior Members
  • Specialty Fellows

Dues/year:

Medical Students and Residents - Free*
All other National member types - $30*
Council Affiliates - $60

* In addition to national dues

Council affiliate membership for non-AAP members

  1. Licensed MDs, DOs, PNPs, PAs or RNs not eligible for AAP membership.  
  2. Non-fellow international pediatricians who do not meet the requirements of National AAP membership.
  3. Allied Health Professionals with an interest in community pediatrics.

Affiliates must submit:

  • A letter of support from AAP Fellows that document the applicant’s interest in community pediatrics advocacy.
  • Copy of current CV
  • Copy of license in the relevant profession.

Specialty fellows

Specialty Fellow Members must be certified by a Board other than a pediatric board (i.e. The American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics).  Licensed physicians eligible for Specialty Fellow membership in COCP must be certified by the American Board of Preventative Medicine and devote 50% of their professional activities to the care of infants, children and adolescents through age 21.  

Specialty Fellow applicants must submit:

  • Copy of board certification
  • One letter of support from a supervisor, AAP Fellow or Specialty Fellow attesting to the fact that the applicant does spend more than 50% of their professional time caring for children or supporting child health issues.
