Allergies and asthma in children are on the rise and are treated by most general pediatricians. The SOAI seeks new members to strengthen the awareness, communication, and education regarding these prevalent childhood medical concerns. General pediatricians and specialists must partner effectively within the Medical Home to provide the best care for children.
SOAI goals include:
- Developing clinical reports, such as, Cord Blood Banking for Future Transplantation, Guidance on Completing a Written Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan, Epinephrine for First-aid Management of Anaphylaxis, and Clinical Tools to Assess Asthma Control in Children
- Developing new session proposals for allergy, asthma and immunology, most of which were accepted for the 2023 National Conference & Exhibition
- Publishing a Synopsis Book: Best Articles Relevant to Pediatric Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as a supplement to Pediatrics
- Producing a patient education booklet on Childhood Asthma
